During the 70's I worked at the front dest for the Marriott Hotel in Cleveland, Ohio and met so many important people.

President Nixon
Pat Nixon (they were there over night)
Robert DiNiro
Al Pacino
All the NBA basketball players
All the NFL football players
Hockey players (professional) they were wild and so full of fun and all the basketball players were depressed.(or most) away from home so much and the schedule is so long.
Lassie treated like the star of stars.
But the biggest thing ever for the hotel was the Mohammad Ali fight in 1975 when he fought Chuck Wepner to retain his heavyweight championship. He, his mother, aunt, wife, girlfriend and other took one entire floor. They did not eat in the restaurant, the aunt did all the cooking. I knew nothing about him but I learned quickly since the hotel was filled with newspeople and camera men from all over the world for that fight. Howard Cosell was a famous sports announcer here in the states and he was probably the most demanding of all but all in all things went off quite well and Mohammand and his group were very nice. I loved hotel work since one day was never the same and customer service was something I enjoyed.
