I think it depends on WHAT you are breeding. Number one is to make sure you have the very best representation of the breed. BOTH male and female should be as close to the standard as possible. Number two, they should be tested for genetic defects as well as any other potential health problems. The pedigrees should be researched to determine the overall quality of the lines you breed. There is so much more.. but that is just a starting place.
Start with the breeder you got your yorkie from. go to shows in your area and talk to other breeders.
