Default I'm very interested in this subject--

This is the scenario, as assembled from other threads:

A breeder sold a 16 week old puppy in February. Late April the buyer called wanting to collect on the health guarantee because the puppy had been diagnosed with liver shunt. Guarantee for full refund of purchase price upon proof of live threatening congenital defect, subject to breeder's vet's approval. Breeder received medical records indicating: 2 lepto vaccines given, 2 kennel cough vaccines, lab work for parasites. This is a 4.5 lb puppy. The good stuff: normal pre-spay blood panel, BAT run at puppy owner's request is approx.50 post, ultrasound report says "appears to be large vein connecting....," in other words, a shunt. Ultrasound also showed normal size liver and no urinary stones or (unintelligible). Based on this the vet wants to go into surgery, the puppy owner agrees, and the breeder and her vet are objecting. The breeder wants to buy the puppy back because she feels very strongly that the owner is not acting in her best interests.
