They will be pretty inactive when the water is really cold. Even goldfish do the same thing; I've had a big goldfish in a tub watergarden when the top was frozen and he basically just hibernated when it was cold....Koi will need a lot of water though; they get really big. And they don't need tons of water til they do get bigger~

It could be a change in their water too....hopefully it's just b/c it's cooler today. I love fish!
