To the OP, it sounds like you have a very good and reasonable vet. I find the information about coccidia to be very informative, thanks for posting! Often we tend to automatically blame the breeder when things like this happen, but sometimes it just happens. My vet told me the same thing about stress--she said that a puppy can have coccidia and it not even show up on tests. But then when they are under stress they will experience symptoms. So it is not always just a matter of testing.

And I think I would be a little leery of a day care that would not let me see the facilities. I could understand if they did not want you walking around the dogs, for various reasons, but should at least have a place for you to view. Just MHO.
