Hi everyone,
We are currently in the research phase of getting a Yorkie pup. We would appreciate any info that you all may have. A bit about us:
We had a lovely beagle (Bella) who died last summer at age 10 after a lengthy illness
We have 3 children (9, 7, 5 1/2) who are good with animals
We have a 10 month old cat
I work part-time around my husband's schedule so someone is usually home. A puppy would not be left alone for more than 4-5 hours at a time.
We would love to get a Yorkie but want to really research this before bringing a puppy home. Also, the Yorkshire Terrier Club of America does not seem to have any local (Massachusetts, New Hampshire or Rhode Island) affiliates or breeder referrals so I would like to get some reputable breeder referrals. I have seen Yorkies advertised from anywhere between $700 - 2000+ and would like to know what I should reasonably expect to pay a breeder for a healthy puppy. I don't want to support puppy mills.
Any info that you have would be much appreciated.
