Thanks for all the encouragement, everyone! I knew it would be hard.. I just got overwhelmed.
Currently they are both sleeping in separate rooms - Maggie in her crate in the kitchen and Franklin next to me on the couch. I've been letting them interact with each other for bout 5 minutes every time I go in the kitchen.. for the most part they've been ignoring each other. I plan on keeping them separated completely for probably about a week or so until they get used to each other. They can play together supervised or at the dog park.
I'm crossing my fingers that it gets better - she really is a sweet girl with people and even other dogs. It just must be something about Franklin and being inside.. I'm pretty sure she's used to being outside most of the time.
I'm also hoping that she's not pregnant. If she is.. that changes everything.
