I have to disagree. I kept the the pee pads in his playpen for a LONG time. Even after he learned to go outside I still kept them in his playpen at night and when I had to leave just in case. I do think he needs to get use to the kennel. However, I think it is very important that you cuddle with him as much as possible right now.During the day I held Diesel all the time. he was 9 weeks old when we brought him home and was scared stiff. He cuddled with me all the time. At night he slept in the playpen which was in my bedroom right next to my side of the bed. He had a nice warm thick blanket and his food and water and his puppy pad. I don't go to bed till late at night and that was when I put him in his playpen. It took him a good week to start coming out of his shell. He also didn't want to eat either. I ended up going to the store and buying him some babyfood. He loved the Beachnut Chicken and Chicken broth. Congrats on your new baby!!!
