they also have to have zippers in the top or side so the dog cannot escape. I have flown my babies all over on almost every airline with the one from Walmart. 15.99. Also it is not a good idea to take the hard on in the cabin. You really will do much better with a soft sided one. That can be squished in or down if need be.
