Thank you! I had a very good trainer, but you could do the training yourself if you're more talented than I am.
The certification is through TDI (Therapy Dogs International). Most of the requirements are from the AKC Canine Good Citizen test, but they add a couple of things. Like, they have to be tested around medical equipment, such as wheelchairs and walkers, and they have to learn "leave it" so that they don't pick up anything off the floor that they're not supposed to. The test is done by a certified TDI evaluator and if the evaluator is for the AKC to, they can also receive the AKC CGC at the same time.

Therapy Dogs International, Inc. If they don't have a TDI evaluator in your area, I understand that there are other therapy dog organizations that also certify dogs.
