Any 'Joe' on the street can see the prices for yorkies and figure "Hey - I can make a buttload of money selling yorkie puppies - LOOK HOW MUCH they go for !" .....so ...the cycle starts ....and they breed without a CLUE. The dogs suffer in the end and the people who love them. |
We're not getting anywhere here. Someone put the idea in your head that dog breeding was supposed to be some kind of charity work. NOT. I breed because I'm still trying to create the perfect Yorkshire Terrier. This is very very expensive and time consuming. Few puppies make the final cut as show prospects and I NEED TO be paid for those that are sold as pets. That is how I raise the money to go to shows, pay big vet bills, buy expensive show dogs, pay the people who care for my dogs when I go the work to a job that I need to do to raise more money to cover more of the expenses. I can tell you that though my prices are not low, they are not nearly as high as they should be.
