During the time I was contemplating putting my Three Bars Granddaughter on the track, I talked to trainers and to owners of horses that had been "run". I took all the informaltion I learned from trainers and owners and decided that it wasn't worth the risk. It didn't take me very long to realize that the trainers were more interested in $$ than they were in the health and well-being of my filly. |
Of course you do what's right for your own horse that's the top priority absolutely nothing wrong in that! I personally wouldn't let a horse of mine go to the track either...I use to own a Three Bars colt many years ago but like I've stated before I use to barrel race for many many years and that is actually where my passion lies...but I still think a race horse is awesome to watch all that power and speed and with such grace and elegance...again too bad they are started too young and pushed to hard in the horse racing sport.
