I just got her a couple of days ago, someone my aunt worked with was going to put her to sleep cause she can't use her back legs, she just drags them.. the thing is I have 2 other yorkies.. and Im terrified of them catching it. But, she is eating fine.. are these the symptoms of parvo? and if so.. how do I get it out of my house and yard? |
From this post the information in my head was you had a pup given to a couple of days ago and it is sick with bloody diahreah and has no use of its back legs and still has not been seen at a vets office...IMHO i think this pup should have been seen immeaditly upon taking ownership.

From this post the information in my head is ...Now i am reading that this pup is 5 months old, you had her given to you for free because she is suffering with dragging her legs...still has not been seen by a vet for diagnosis of her medical conditions...IMHO when you took this pup in it should have been taken to a vet immediately.

I am thinking about just having her put to sleep cause if she has parvo.. i'd have to have that fixed (which is expensive) and then she'd still have the leg problem. And shes 5 mnths and hardly has any teeth.. (shouldn't they have baby teeth by then?) I think she has more problems than the legs.. we just don't know it yet.My other dogs have been around her, and shes been all over our house.. so I'm praying to god that my babies didn't catch it. I know theres no way I could afford to treat all 3 of them. When I was working in a vets office and had to deal with a puppy that had parvo.. she said that dogs that are over 2 years old most likely will not catch it.. but if they are under 2 and even if they have been vaccinated theres still a chance. |
The info in my head here is.....You put in your profile that you are a vets assistant, unemployed at the moment and was not financialy secure to be taking this pet into your home, knowing that she would need medical attention right away because of her medical conditions...and a vet assistant not knowing when puppy teeth come in ...hmmmm and then you talk of having her put to sleep, is this not what you were trying to save this precious baby from....hmmm

I called lots of animal clinics.. most close at 12 on Saturdays.. and none would even hold a check for us.. I didn't really take this dog in.. I was holding it while my aunt found it a home.. and I was going to try to have its legs fixed for it if it wasn't expensive. I didn't take it to the vet to have its legs looked at since its only been here a couple of days. Anyway.. my aunt decided to pay for it.. Which charged us over 100.00 upfront.. (and we dont have any money so Im glad she did this for me) so we took her.. it will take 2,000.00 to have its legs fixed.. and it had coccidia. |
Now you are telling me that you were only holding the puppy until it reaches a final destination,,,, then why were you going to invest in getting this pups legs "fixed" if you had no intention on keeping the baby....as for not seeking treatment because offices close at noon ...well thats what emergency clinics are for....
Sorry if i have offened you but i only posted on the information that you posted in the forum....I am glad that you took this pup in for treatment...I truely hope the best for you!
