The two breeders I know out her in California do them at 10 days old. The last pup I had done, came back shaking and it scared the hell out of me. When I used to breed labs, I had them done before they were 5 days old. But these breeders seem to think the pup would bleed to death (haven't talked to them about this 5 oz pup yet though). Am I better off letting the experienced breeder dock the tail or the vet? My breeder lives 1 1/2 hrs away from me.
