You need a federal tax ID and a state resale/retail ID as well (for paying sales taxes and for buying wholesale). It is best to get incorporated, get insurance, all that stuff. You have to buy an available domain name and get a website/server with a shopping cart system. Oh you also need a merchant account (to accept credit cards). It's pretty expensive to get set up the right way. GOOD LUCK!
