Sounds like a mild case of separation anxiety. I don't have any personal experience, so hopefully others can help you out with that. I Googled around and came up with several good sites. The below link seemed typical. Basically, the want you to not make a big deal about arrivals and departures. Also, give them something to do while you're gone. A kong with peanut butter inside is a suggested tip.

Some people swear by crate training. Dogs are more comfortable in confined places, so they get them used to sleeping in a small crate at night and when you're gone. It's not as scary.
