Your Yorkie's name and ages: Bo, 4 months
Where are you from: I grew up in Kentucky but have lived in Indiana for the last 22 years.
What made you decide to buy a Yorkie: I researched different breeds for about 2 months before I got Bo. My husband didn't want to pay what Yorkies cost here so I looked into Wire Fox Terriers (too much like my VERY excitable Schnauzer and supposedly hard to train), a 1/2 Yorkie, 1/2 Shih Tzu (that particular puppy didn't capture my heart for some reason), a Shih Tzu (I actually lost a $100 deposit on the Shih Tzu when I found Bo, hubby wasn't happy about that), and then I found a listing in the classifieds. A woman whose friend had a Yorkie and her Yorkie and her friends bred. They aren't breeders but her mother used to. Anyway, they ended up with a litter of 2 pups and no facilities to keep them in so they wanted to be rid of the puppies. She said Bo was 6 weeks when I got him but my vet said probably not. But, he was eating his mother's food and was well socialized so I feel I got a bargain. I'm not bothering with the registration. He will be neutered at 6 months. (Sorry so long winded!
Breeders: How long have you been breeding, how do you like it? What made you decide to start breeding?: I'm not a breeder, would love to raise one litter but I realize it takes a special kind of person to do that...
Have/do you have any other pets: An 8 year old grouchy schnauzer, named Woody, with health problems, but we still love him too.
What are your hobbies?: I don't work outside the home so I keep myself busy with my children (2) and my friends and hobbies. I love to design jewelry, scrapbook, garden, decorate my home and take pictures (although I can't get a decent picture of Bo to save my life!) and visit on the Yorkie forum of course!
Are you married/engaged/dating/single?: Married for 22 years
Does your significant other love Yorkies as much as you?: He does! It took me 4 years to convince him to get another dog. Now he loves Bo as much as the children and I do!
Do you have any children? If so, what are their ages and how are they doing with your Yorkie?: My daughter is a senior in high school, and my son is in the 5th grade. They love Bo. He really loves my daughter but is a little timid around my son because he's so rambunctious and expected Bo to be as rough and rowdy and the Schnauzer. Bo's heart, though, belongs to Mama!!
Anything else interesting that will help us to get to know you better?: Ummm, does the fact that I'm in the middle of a mid-life crisis count as interesting??....probably not...How about the fact that I just lost 40 pounds, got my hair colored and cut and bought a whole new wardrobe? Sorry, I guess that's the mid-life crisis discussion...
