I was thinking the very same idea. It's worth a try. Go over board being nice. Sometimes it works. Now, granted, I had a horrible neighbor lady for 11 years. We finally moved because of her. She had a love/hate relationship with our big dog. She would come over to our yard and talk to him, then moments later she would curse at him, then come back to apologize to him and hug him. We would watch her from our deck. Poor dog didn't know what was up. We finally had to tell the police to tell her to stay off our property. She wouldn't listen to us. BUT if your neighbor is NOT a psycho like ours was, kindness just may work.
