Denise...perhaps I missed something, but are the hives the only symptom your daughter has? Usually hives in an allergic reaction...are something ingested. Food or drugs.

80% of hives are idiopathic...you will never determine the cause. Sometimes isn't any rhythm or reason with a hives outbreak.

It can be bad this morning....clear up...and then return all on their own without any relation to any stimulus. May be gone in the morning...may come back tomorrow. Scratching....makes MORE whelps. Clothes rubbing against them...can cause them. Stress can cause them.

If your daughter is not suffering from other symptoms...such as stuffed or runny nose, swollen, teary eyes etc...I highly doubt it's Maddie.
