Update on Scooter: He saw the cardiologist and had an echo today. It turns out that his "murmur" is actually a PDA. The good news is that he has no other heart disease at this time (no congestive heart failure) and should do well with a surgical repair. He is too little to have the surgery where they insert a coil into the hole to plug it, so he will have to have the open heart surgery instead. We are starting him on a low-dose of lasix (diuretic) to help decrease any fluid load on his heart. OK, that's gonna really help in potty training

And we need to keep his activity level down, so we had to take away his water bottle because he will chase it around for long periods.
The cardiologist has faxed in a referral to a surgeon who deals mostly with the heart. I will call him tomorrow and see about setting up the surgery as soon as possible. I will keep all update on this thread. Thank you to tghose who have sent Scooter and me prayers and good thoughts. You all are the best!!!
If anybody has experience with PDA repair or if they know of anyone, could you please PM me. TIA
