I would do a complete blood panel and maybe even an x-ray to check heart size. Also make sure the vet you are dealing with has experience with small dogs. Do they operate on a heated surface? use Isoflorine or Severflorine. Monitor heart and b/p and use something safe like Propafol to induce etc. I spent months hunting for the right vet for Feather because I was so scared to have her done. I finally found a vet an hour away to do a minimiumly invasive spay on her. He was great but I paid well for it. Anyway sorry, I didn't mean to write a book
