Thanks so much for your replies. Should I get a puppy or older dog? Tootsy is very jealous and I wondered if I got a puppy, whether she would mother it instead of feeling that it was a threat? Of course, an older dog would be an instant playmate, provided they liked each other, but then there's the jealously thing to consider. I am a first time dog owner so I know so little about this sort of thing. I would be grateful for any advice.
