You just put the solution in the spot bot, set the brush end over the stain/spot and push the button. 3 min or 6 min cycle. If it isn't clean, do it again. I Love IT!
I will say that the solutions are expensive. We use the Oxy-clean solution for bad stains (diarhea, vomit) . and use the Pet Odor solution for anything else (blood spots from female heat or pee stains from my little man -- that bad little boy).
I haven't heard of the "pet" model. Don't know the difference.
