I see the majority so far has said that a Dobie and Yorkie can do well together. I have to jump onto the other said and disagree. It's not really about the breed so much as it is about the size. The Dobie is going to be even as a puppy so much bigger then your Yorkie. Simple play can hurt your Yorkie. Then you have the issues when they grow. Dogs are pack animals and will establish their dominance. What if the Dobie you get is alpha? I have five total of three Yorkies and two Yorkie mixes. I have two that are both Alpha of of which is 13 lbs. and the other 5 lbs. There are problems. I have to watch them very very closely. Now Noel is 17 lbs. and I have a 4 lbs. Tia that bullies Noel so it could work reverse, but are you willing to take that chance? That is something that only you can answer. In my opinion the problem lies not only in the size difference but even more importantly in the personality. As puppies you have no idea what the temperment or personality will be unti they are an adult or close to it. How they were raised does not guarantee temperment, believe me. Jersey we've had since 10 weeks and socialized her by taking her with us to bb games etc. and yet she's stand offish, alpha and we have to watch her with strangers. She is far different from my others. My personal opinion is it is really not worth the chance you would be taking. Elaine
