Hello and welcome to YT...Read everything you can get your hands on...Ideally it would be helpful to have a mentor that can assist with breeding and whelping but that is not always possible...

I would highly suggest reading: Canine Reproduction and Whelping (A breeders guide) by Myra Savant Harris R.N.

and also : Puppy Intensive Care ( A breeders guide to care of newborn puppies) also by Myra Savant Harris R.N.

There is a lot of good information in both of these books...

You also want to read and know the standard for the Yorkshire Terrier that is set by the Yorkshire Terrier Club of America so you can determine if your yorkies are good representations of the breed...By doing so you are helping to keep the yorkies the beautiful breed they have become!
