Parti yorkies are eligible for registration through the AKC. If both the sire and dam are AKC registered yorkies, the offspring can be registered through AKC as well. When you get your registration paper, it only gives you 4 choices of colors which are blue/tan, blue/gold, black/tan, black/gold. But if you have a yorkie that is a different color such as a parti, chocolate (known as liver), solid gold, solid blue, etc. there is a way to register them as the correct color.
While parti yorkies can be registered with AKC, they can not be shown in the conformation ring. Their color is considered a disqualification according to the yorkshire terrier standard and rules set by the YTCA.
