He is bigger than the standard - not to exceed 7 pounds. I would just have him neutered and if you want to breed get another yorkie that is to standard. Also have the one you will breed tested and evaluated to see if he is worthy of passing on his genes. Then be sure that what you breed him to is of standard. What size yorkies to you want to produce?? I prefer yorkies around 5 pounds or at least within the standard size. This one you have may have larger size behind him to, if not the parents maybe the grandparents. So he may even produce even larger size yorkies and with your mom's yorkie larger - you may have some really big yorkies. There is no guarantee with breeding, reason why we try to breed to standard.
