Dog vaccines/Minimum duration of immunity
· Canine rabies - 3 years
· Canine parainfluenza - 3 years
· Canine distemper (Onderstepoort strain) - 5 years
· Canine distemper (Rockborn strain) - 7 years
· Canine adenovirus (kennel cough) - 7 years
· Canine parvovirus - 7 years
If you read here, the distemper shots are good for approx 7 years. That is one of the "booster" shots.
Here is what my vet and a lot of other vets think:

The first year you need to get the rabies and the booster. The second year get the rabies and the booster. Then the fifth year we get the rabies and the booster and so on.....because here the rabies is due every three years, so that is when we get the boosters also.
