If she is a new puppy, I can't stress the importance of getting her checked out at the vet. Some people do describe their puppies, as having a certain smell, some even describe it as skunk like, but say it's just a puppy smell. I'm just telling you what I have read because this hasn't happened with Joey; he does start smelling a little like Fritos when it gets close to bath time. I don't know if you use a conditioner when you shampoo, but they condition skin as well as hair and smell really good. There are also grooming sprays you can use between shampoos to freshen them up. I still urge you to see a vet if this is a new puppy.
