I was just tying this figure into what I had seen on Oprah yesterday.
The figure/fact - I got from a rescue site. I don't look at my house as the second home for the pets I bought from a breeder, and I don't believe this figure is counting those either. As probably 99% of animals leave their breeders homes.
For those of us who love & are committed to a breed I can see how this number might seem overboard, but have you been to a rescue lately?? At our local rescue, it is not uncommon to see noted on their tag, that this animal has been at the shelter before
