Wellll, when i see the dog i use a #40 blade and shave very carefully on the corners where the gunk is (Gunk being the professional word for eye boogers) I have heard that a product called Angel Eyes that is taken internally helps with Maltese eye stains. With my own dogs (Pardon, Miniature Schnauzers) I use my fingernail when I hug them often each day. Keeping the hair short by the eye helps. I don't know if I am allowed to mention products. I do not promote or sell any, just know what I have heard or shampoos, conditioners and antistatic spray I like. Am I allowed to say the product names? Some times thinning shears work nicely or small scissors with a ball tip. Yorkies can be wiggly. I also try to get the dogs' feet just off the grooming table. That settles them down. I know some have small treakeas, so the Groomers' Helper that hooks from above and to the grooming arm would not be advised. I gently hold the beard and say...." Staaaaaay honey,staaaay.
