I don't know about breeders but with rescues we charge an adoption fee because we have to know without question that the Yorkie will be cared for and loved for the rest of it's life, regardless of the problems it has. When someone has already invested $$, we can be pretty sure they will give this precious little soul anything it needs. We try to know every single problem or medical issue there may be so we can let the new family know everything we have learned. We are not afforded that same courtesy by those who surrender the babies to us! I believe the breeder was very honest and up front about your baby.
