The thing is, the child probably won't care as long as it is something that is talked about and not just flung on them one day, "Oh, you're dad's a woman." If the baby is brought up knowing what her dad's story is, then she probably won't care. Its the same with kids who grow up in households where the parents are same sex. If they're around that kind of thing since birth and its talked about, then they probably won't think its weird.
It all depends on how the kid finds out. If they just tell her one day, then yeah she'll probably be kind of screwed up. But if she is brought up knowing about the whole thing, then its different.
Have you guys read "A Child Called It?" That is something to complain about. a loving pair of parents having a child and raising it with love is NOT something to complain about.
I don't agree with publicising it for a scientific discovery, because it isn't one. But I also don't agree with people "ewwwing" that he married a woman. If you don't agree with same-sex marriage, that's your personal opinion and I'll respect it. But please, don't feel the need to say things like "ew" and "nasty." I hear enough of that nonsense in my high school whenever the word "gay" is mentioned.
This is my opinion, of course. But I really wish society was more open minded. If anything will screw up the kid, its the fact that society is not tolerant of ANYONE who is "different."
