1. When I went to the website about off-color Yorkies, I was reminded of everything I don't like about some breeders. Very snotty, high opinion of self, their way is the only true way. there was a very notorious political person who thought all people should only be blond haired and blue eyed. We all know how that ended...
2. This breed has changed dramatically over the years as we have all seen in recent posts of pictures, etc. I'm sure it is not done changing. Lots of breeds have different sub-sets that include wire-haired and smooth coat, 13" or 15" height, many different colors. And the AKC is recognizing more new breeds (which had to come from somewhere!) all the time. It's possible there might be a new classification that would include different colored yorkies -- HEAVEN FORBID!
3. If we were only concerned about a true health issue, I would be on board with concerns about breeding. But she hasn't got any unhealthy dogs! Where do we get off thinking we know what will happen to her dogs? I may make a different choice for my dogs and my breeding program (small as it is). But she isn't populating the world with unhealthy dogs. And her 8 puppies sold on limited registration aren't going to "dilute" the Yorkie gene pool.
4.. You really gotta be BRAVE to post on YT. Its like a mine field of judgments and you never know when its going to blow up in your face. I've seen some amazingly compassionate acts here -- saving puppies, helping those that have lost their best friend. But I've seen the opposite too. By all means express your opinions -- just not your judgments.
5. Now I'm going to go play with my puppies (all properly black and tan) -- and wait for the birth of my next litter from the mom who threw a LS puppy, and pray that we are lucky enough to have healthy pups -- whether they are skittles or not.
