It's like the terrible 2's with kids. At 5 mos you're telling everyone how smart your sweet baby is and then between 6 & 8 mos you're wondering if they got a bonk on the noggin and forgot everything including their name!!!
Don't worry, they'll snap out of it. Might take a couple of weeks (months) then they'll get back in line. I've had that experience with my maltese & my last 3 yorkies.
The way I get through it is with a gallon of Natures Miracle, lots of paper towels and a bottle of Parrot Bay.
