Hi welcome to YT. Wow, what a neat gift for Valentines Day. I got Joey at 12 weeks and already the roots of his head were grey, before long it kind of looked like he was bald in places because the jet-black hair intermingled with the grey. Finally, the head was all grey; it's so funny though, because when he changed to a golden color, it didn't seem like it happen at the roots. I know this doesn't make sense, but it's just like one day I noticed the top of his head was a tan or light gold not grey anymore. I think this happened about 1 year of age. If your puppy has no grey roots they probably will turn a darker golden.
