Tee! Hee! That is an exact description of my Mango. Her front half is siilky, her back is cottony, and even has a slight wave just before her tail. She looks so cute, like she has a fat little bum..... makes me just want to smoosh it even more.
As for the combing when wet. I do know that Yorkie hair very closely resembles that of a human. Human hair, because it is made of protein, is weak when wet, so combing it makes it more susceptible to breakage, as opposed to doing so when it is slightly damp. Conditioner reduces the risk of damage, because less hair is lost from inadvertent tugging.
