I am so sorry to hear you are dealing with this. I live in Florida too and (Knock On Wood) I do not see many hawks near me. Where are you if you don't mind me asking?

Also I was thinking...if your yard if fenced in what about stringing bird string from one side of the fence to the other. Basically it is just clear plastic yard/string that will keep birds from diving down because it is strung all over the place but yet high enough for a human to still walk under it. I have heard that is what you can do to keep birds out - a lot of outside dining places do it around here because of the seagulls. I am actually thinking of doing this now too just because I keep hearing so many horror story’s and my Mia and Murphy are only 3 and 6 pounds. I let them have run in my yard a lot and some times when I am not home.
