[ For instance I have a female who just gave birth to two beautiful babies, and she does not act even a little bit like Sabrina did when she had her babies, Sabrina would actually leave her whelping box to eat and drink, with Lucy it's different I've literally had to hand feed her and bring water to her, she does not want to leave her babies, no where in a book do they say describe behavior like that or tell you if it's normal or not, i was getting ready to rush her to the emergency room thinking something was wrong that she does not want to leave her whelping box to eat or drink but thanks to the breeders on here who are KIND HEARTED AND GENUINELY WANT TO HELP OUT IF THEY COULD I was worrying for nothing, it is normal for some mother dogs to be nervous about leaving their babies, I just never read that anywhere
The book The Joy of Breeding Your Own Show Dog by Anne Searne discusses this in her book. She's a yorkie breeder

I won't whelp a litter without this book
