Well, we are off for more tests/x-rays etc... They want me to leave him for awhile.
I don't know who will be more heartbroken...me or Bernie.
Quick update: He's his usual happy self this am...no use of that back leg though. He's gotten pretty good at movin' around on the other three.
I'm beginning to think it must be either a back problem or a neurological one....what's puzzling is the 2-1/2 days where he didn't want to move at all. That makes me think back. Having seen what dh goes through, this is actually very similar.
I'll post an update when I know more!
