Thank you all so much for your replies, i appreciate it very much... and i'm calmer today as is everyone else at the house... so far... my parents still don't believe my approach is working... but i know it is, bc when she barks and i say "shh" she stops... and when she wants me to check something out i tell her thanks Belle it's ok... and go check out whatever... and then she stops... they get her over excited, especially my dad, and then when he doesnt want to play anymore, is when she barks at him... and at my brother for attention but she's been stopping that... thanks for your replies and wishes...

I agree with you. Everyone should be on the same page with the discipline. I like Cesar Millan too. Maybe have your parents watch his show. I wish you the best.

my dad thinks i'm insane bc of the dog psychology approach (as per cesar) so it's hard to get them on the same page, i am still trying though... she's a great doggie most of the time...it's just the barking that gets out of hand when everyone starts shouting... but she listens to me...i guess that's great... lol

So, if I understand right, this is a new situation that she is in? Maybe time will take care of it. I have four pressure mounted gates in my house. Love them. Gives me more control even though there is a door to close. My guess is that you are still young since you are living at home. Read all you can on the net about raising your wee one and you will do just fine. It is a common presumption from the "old school" (which I am a part of ) that whopping the dog is acceptable. Through gentle education you can teach your parents the right way to discipline a furbaby. Good luck!

It is fairly new, so we're still working on it... i have been doing research and reading up since before i got her... and i am young, i am 21 and going to school which is why i'm still at home...
