I was talking to some professional show dog gals yesterday and they asked me if I cut Coco short. I said, yes but her hair doesn't grow fast. I've only cut her once and her hair won't grow much. She is also 6 months. The ladies all suggested a bottle called Grizzly salmon oil. It's natural full of vitamins, that's great for coat growth. You just add some to their food. You can find it here:
