I have heard this myself from a breeder and have friends who i've met and their breeder said the same thing!!! they pull one tiny bit of information from an article and use that against peoiple. Some are saying that herbs can cause LS. Only severe contamination can cause it and it would have to be a MAJOR assault on the liver that would make liver disease and liver shunts secondary to that so the liver toxic/disease would show up on biopsy, seen by surgeon, or trauma would show bruising. Some people will find anything they can to back up what they WANT to believe. Then they go to prospective buyers and discredit the poor souls who ended up with LS dogs and say "well he or she did this because look at what I read" and tell these people they dont' need to bile acid test because "I've never had this in my lines. This person did it to his own dog". And they do this despite what the surgeons and/or vets have concluded which many times is genetic conclusion. But I guess some breeders or people know more than vets and surgeons.
Not all breeders are bad though. I've met some AWESOME breeders who have had LS or other problems and are completly honest, help the owner and dog as much as they can, and are just wonderful people.
