I can understand your reasons. I do know that when I was feeding solid gold canned they were having problems trying to find somewhere to canned their food, the last 24 cans I order direct from them did not have the same consistency as before and gave Wicket an upset stomach, so needless to say I stop giving him that, This is one reason I keep to the same food and treats nothing else, that way if something goes wrong if it's the food I can narrow it down quick. I also do not give him pig ears, bully sticks, etc because I am not sure what the cows or pigs were given before they were slaughter.
I know I am going overboard, but after having a diabetic yorkie for 4yrs I have learned that one bite of something they shouldn't have will send their whole body system out of sorts.
