was the kennel you have enclosed? for crate training your suppose to use the plastic kind, that are only big enough for them to stand up and turn around. And no room for anything else... pee pads, water bowl..nothing. If there's still a little room in there, then get a small box or something to block off the extra space. You get one of the water bottles, like for a rabbit cage and attach it to the kennel. I think he's still got too much room in there which is why he still thinks its okay...
