Excessive Barking-Citronella collar I was wondering if anyone had used a Citronella collar to help with their Yorkie's excessive barking?
I really don't think Lucy excessively barks, she just barks at night when my mom is at home and her dog Mazie (a 7 yo yorkie) is sitting with her, she barks and then bites at my mom's feet trying to get Mazie to play. I think it's a jealousy issue with the 2 of them for my mom's attention because they don't do it to anyone else and only when my mom is sitting down.
Anyway, my sister also has a yorkie and she got him a citrnoella collar that sprays him everytime he barks. Well he's figured out that it only happens when he wears the collar so he won't bark with the collar on but he barks when it's not on.
I'm just not sure if it's the right thing to do to correct Lucy's barking at night, because Mazie would still bark at Lucy so I was thinking unless they both had collars it wouldn't help. And the collars are rather expensive so not sure if we really want to invest in 2.
So I guess my question is, does anyone have any other suggestions on how to break Lucy of her barking habit? Or if they recommend the collar any techniques on it's uses, etc.
