The joys of training......Mindy is 11 months and Bear is 7 months and they are both fixed. Mindy is 100% trained in our family room but the second she gets upstairs which is usually our fault she will poo on our area rug in our bathroom. She also peed on the area rug in my daughters room and there was a pee pad in there.

Bear since he was fixed two weeks ago has not peed in the family room which is huge because that was almost a daily event on the area rug. He will also have accidents if he manages to escape when our heads are turned. So we don't usually let them out unless we are able to watch them.

We keep them in a xpen in our family room when we are not around and if we are unable to watch them. Other then that we gate off the family room and they are confined to this area. I do pray that at some point they will be able to be trusted.

I use washable pee pads that I ordered from Valenthics. I have about 12 of them and I wash a load once every 6 days or so. So easy and much cheaper. Mine took to the pads right away. I never had to use the old pads over top.

I'd like to hear from some of the others that have older dogs, whether they are able to let the dogs have free run of the house without accidents on a daily base?
