So what do you do if you have been breeding for years and then suddenly a liver shunt puppy shows up? The sire that produced the liver shunt puppy may already have many offspring on the ground being used in other people's breeding programs. And what if the breeding is a outcross, you don't really know if the problem is on the sires side or dam's side or just a bad combination of genes. I know it is frustrating but there is no simple solution.
