type-o, sorry. Reduced thyroid function acn also happen (rarely) due to inadequate iodine, but more commonly from use of certain drugs. For example, a common treatment of skin allergies is to use corticosteroids (anti-inflammatory drugs), and these will interfere with thyroid hormone production.
