We almost went through the undescended testicle thing but it
thankfully dropped at the last minute. The way the surgery was
described to me was that they would make a small incision and
remove the testicle that was obviously present. Then they would
make another small incision in the loin area where the other one
should have dropped from with the hopes that it just got caught
up there on the way down. If it wasn't there then a large incision
would be made in the abdomen and they would then search for
the lost one. I remember someone saying that their little boy had
gone through this issue but I can't remember who it was. I do
recall though them saying that it wasn't nearly as bad as the way
it sounded and their little guy made a nice recovery. I have no
idea in regard to the cost your vet should be able to give you an
estimate before you agree to the procedure.
